Pooled Pension Funds ...
Beginning in the late 1960s B. J. Vincent Company Limited, a predecessor company
to DV Associates, introduced one of the first surveys of investment returns for
pooled funds especially designed for pension plans. The Pooled Pension Fund survey
has continued to be published each calendar quarter since that time.
Presented in the PDF below are extracts from the latest Pooled Pension Fund survey.
Note that the B. J. Vincent survey presents returns both on the traditional lump
sum investment basis and also assuming a uniform monthly deposit over each measurement
period. This latter calculation gives a rate of return that would approximate the
kind of return a member of a Group RRSP with payroll deduction might experience.
